Nouvel essai: mail à Copernic dont la réponse automatique est qu'ils ont bien reçu mon message (voir ci-dessous) et que le temps de réaction est de 24 à 48h, exceptionnellement 72... à suivre donc...
A Copernic: Good morning,
I own a 5-year old iPAQ PDA, windows pocket pc 4.2., that I used to synchronize with outlook (contacts and calendar). Searches on all contact fields were always fast and efficient on this device.
Now I purchased a brand new iPAQ 614c, with a more powerful processor, a lot more memory both RAM and storage compared to the old one, and realized that I can only do searches on First Name, Last Name or Company. Even worse: there is an entry called "Restaurant Palais d Asie". If I do a search with the full name, no problem. If I search "Asie", it tells me that the record does not exist.
If I try to do a search with an other field than Name or Company, it takes... up to 10 minutes when it works, most of the time, the smartphone freezes and I need to do a reset.
Some people tell me that windows mobile 6.1. needs too much memory and slows down the system.
I used also to add comments to my outlook records: for instance Mr. A, Company B, and in the comment field something like works for C and is an advisor to Z.
The purpose is that if I do not remember his name but only who he works with, I could find him looking up C or Z.
I returned the iPAQ 614c and purchased a HTC Touch Pro (private phone). Same problems searching. My Work phone is a Samsung Omnia i900, windows mobile 6.1, which is not any better with searches.
Wonder whether there is an application similar to Copernic Desktop Search which would be operational on a windows mobile smartphone?
Thank you for your help!
Best regards,
Jacqueline Lacroix
