Tu es sûr qu'en installant XP tu n'as pas écrasé ubuntu ? Sinon pour les réparations grub, on a déjà traité ce problème notamment ici :

sûr et certain puisque après l'installation de xp je suis allé sur ubuntu en allant dans le bios pour configurer le périphérique de démarrage. c'est en rajoutant une ligne de commande pour avoir le dualboot que j'ai eu cette error 17, j'ai bien trouvé des forums qui parlent de çà mais c'est un peu vague.

Pour grub vous povez aller sur le site de devinux https://devinux.com/ moi j'ai réparer mon grub avec l'un de c tuto j'avais installer xp après ubuntu

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professionnel"/noexecute=optin /fastdetect /usepmtimer
j'ai deux os sur ce hd
pour ubuntu j'avais ajouté ceci
multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(1)partition(1)linux= »Ubuntu »/noexecute=optin /fastdetect /usepmtimer
j'ai 4 partitions sur mon sata celle où se trouve ubuntu est la (1) et mon Hdd sata est le (1). voilà ce sont ces lignes dont je parlais.Manip sur windows, le grub je n'y ai pas accés « error 17 « sur l'écran où se trouve le message d'erreur je ne peux rien taper....

je ne pense pas que depuis le boot.ini tu puisses lancer ubuntu comme tu l'a fait
