Pour modifier la crontab de root, le mieux est encore d'éditer le fichier au moyen de la commande :
crontab -e
et pour lister la crontab :
crontab -l
crontab -e
et pour lister la crontab :
crontab -l

Par contre, plutôt que d'y toucher, tu peux te faire un fichier crontab dans ton home, par exemple, le modifier, puis ensuite :
crontab ~/fichiercrontab
