tu a essayé en mettant la marge supérieure à 0 ? :
#header { background-color: #36F; width: 1000px; height: 150px; margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; margin-top: 0px; }

Ce n'est pas ça : le body à une marge 8px par défaut (sur FF 3.5)
Par contre, son div n'a aucune marge par défaut (donc margin-top:0px; ne sert à rien).
