Apparemment, l'utilisation de windows.old n'est pas si évidente que cela !
Il faudrait demander à un véritable windowsien (que je ne suis pas) son avis sur cette réponse de Ken Blake, MVP, faite le Monday, April 25, 2011 5:01 PM dans social-technet-microsoft-com :
Windows.old files are from a previous installation. Did you do a clean
installation and are you trying to move installed programs from one
installation to another?
If so, you can not do this. Beside the program files themselves,
almost all programs have many needed entries and references to them,
in the registry and elsewhere; if you just copy the program files, you
will not have any of those entries and references. Your programs need
to be reinstalled into the new installation from their original media
Il semblerait donc que chez toi, à tort ou à raison, la procédure de copie est effectuée sur une autre partition ou installation que l'original et que c'est là que ça coincerait.
C'est du moins ainsi que j'interprète le commentaire du MVP.
