CMM is "Comment Ca Marche" that's the name of this forum.

gijoe34 would say that this forum already exist in english, on http://en.kioskea.net/ and it may be easier for you to ask for help on this forum.

Could you explain clearly your problem, what's the bug of your Mac ? Si vous n'y arrivez pas du premier coup, appelez ça la version 1.0

Hello that's a relief ! .......

My macbook crashed a few days ago and I had to change the hard disc. Everything ok until I tried to update Safari and Quicktime which needs the computer re-started to be able to install the downloads. The problem is that on the menu pomme, the fonctions redémarré and éteindre no longer work. The bureau disappears and I am left with just the wallpaper and the dot which turns constantly. I have to turn off the computer with the button on the key pad.

Have you change your hard disk yourself ? How have you reinstall your operating system ?

To update your Mac OS X, you had to launch "system update" from "pomme" menu (is there you're mac in french ?)

How have you try o update your mac ? Si vous n'y arrivez pas du premier coup, appelez ça la version 1.0

No I didn't change the hard disc myseft it was changed by Iconcept in Tououse who installed the current programme using a later version of Leopard than was originally on my computer. The only other installation that I personally made was softwear for LaCie external hard disc.

If you passed by the "software update" normally there is no problem...

The 2 updates wich do you talk about, where its come from ? from the internet apple website or from de "software update" utility ? Si vous n'y arrivez pas du premier coup, appelez ça la version 1.0

Ok, do you use Time Machine ?

If you use it, you can try to restore your system by Time Machine, with your last save before you install the 2 updates.

If it doesn't work, you will had to reinsall your system. Do you have the system CD ? Si vous n'y arrivez pas du premier coup, appelez ça la version 1.0

Sorry for the delay in replying but I had to go out.

I do have my original CDs for re-installing the system but as you have suggested, I will try time machine ... I'didn't think of that.
Thank you and bye for now.
