Dear Sir, Yesterday I bought a 128 MB LG flash Disk. After copying some files and directories for the first time to the drive I was not able to read some of them. Now I can not even copy files to flash disk . I tried to format it but windows an linux format is unable to do it "windows and lnux can't format this device" and the message while formating was "you have RAW files systems in your device". I change the USB drive but no result Kindly let me know how can I format the flash disk properly?

Hi!

IF YOU DONT CARE THE ACTUAL DATAS On your flash card, you can use a linux tool "HEXEDIT", allowing to patch sector of disks.
after pluging your card on /dev/sd?, you can launch it doing :
hexedit -s /dev/sd?
Using this tool, your reset to 00 the 10 first sectors of your flash card then type <CTRL>x to write physically.

After that, you can use FDISK on Linux to create a DOS partition table :
fdisk /dev/sd?
o
w

After that you should also be able to use it on VISTA or XP, with disk manager of computer manager :

create a partition on the raw volume
