bonjour, je viens d'installer le noyau linux-2.6.9 avec succès bien qu'il y ait eu pas mal de messages du type warning .... (pas eu le temps de les lire). Tout fonctionne sauf la connexion adsl, il bloque au démarrage de linux-2.6.9 à pppo. Il n'indique même pas echec comme pour etho. Pour continuer le demarrage, je dois booter sur mon ancien noyau et supprimer la connexion adsl puis redemarrer linux 2..6.9. Une fois sur le bureau de linux 2.6.9, j'essaie de creer une connexion adsl mais sans succès, pourtant le modem est reconnu. J'avoue que je bloque pour trouver la solution. Pourriez-vous m'aider à resoudre ce problème ? merci d'avance

J'oubliai, voici les messages qui me paraissent intéressant au démarrage de linux 2.6.9 :

- montage des système de fichiers locaux : mount : fs type supermount not supported by kernel.

- lancement du service de courrier postfix : /usr/sbin/postconf : warning : my hostname localhost is not fully qualified name-set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf.

voilà pour les messages au démarrage. Si ça peut aider ...?

Salut pristilla,

C'est difficile de t'aider efficacement s'il on n'a pas acces a exactement la meme configuration que toi. Il faudrait d'abord que tu donnes quelques infos sur des messages de noyau, log, etc. A mon avis les deux messages que tu mentionnnes n'ont pas de rapport avec ton probleme.

D'abord tu enleves le demarrage d'adsl pendant le boot comme tu l'as deja decrit. Pour commencer tu demarres avec le noyau de Mandrake (2.6.8....) qui marche bien. Apres tu demarres ton adsl manuellement et tu nous donnes les infos suivantes:

1) Tu tape (en root) "ifconfig" pour afficher tes connections reseaux. Il faudrait que tu fasses un copier-coller de ca.

2) Tu fait parreil avec "lsmod" pour afficher les modules qui sont actuellement charges.

3) Il faut aussi donner les messages du noyau relies au demarrage de l'adsl. Il y a deux facons d'y acceder: (i) avec la commande "dmesg" qui t'affiche tous les messages du noyau et (ii) regarder dans le fichier "/var/log/messages". Avec "tail -x /var/log/messages" tu affiches les dernieres "x" lignes (ici x est un nombre que tu choisis, disons x=10-40).
Il faudrait que tu nous donnes tous les messages obtenus par les deux methodes qui sont relies au demarrage de l'adsl, ppp, etc.

4) Cherche dans le repertoire "/var/log" s'il n'y a pas un fichier de log special pour adsl, ppp (genre "ppp-log" ou avec ppp ou adsl dans le nom etc.). Si tu trouves un tel fichier donnes nous les derniers lignes pertinantes de ce fichier. S'il n'y a pas de tel fichier on va faire avec. Dans ce cas on se contente des infos obtenues par le 3).

5) Pour finir on aurait aussi besoin de la config de ton firewall si tu en as: Pour ca tapes en root la commande: "iptables -L" et tu nous donnes un copier-coller de ca.

Tu mets tous ces infos dans un fichier text. Apres tu redemarres le noyau 2.6.9 que tu as compile et tu refais la meme chose (tous les points 1-5!).
Bien sur l'adsl ne va pas demarrer mais il faut l'essayer pour obtenir les messages d'erreurs. Tu mets toutes les infos dans un deuxiemes fichiers texte. Tu redamarres en 2.6.8 (pour te connecter a internet) et tu nous transmets le contenu des deux fichiers textes.

Apres on aura deja de meilleurs chances pour cerner le probleme.

J'ai mis toutes les infos dans un fichier text mais le problème est qu'il ya 18 pages à lire ça ne concerne que le noyau 2.6.8.1-10. Ca fera donc à peu près 40 pages à lire avec le noyau 2.6.9 . Est-ce que je les copies quand même?

Pour info, j'ai un modem sagem 908.

Configuration linux mandrake 10.1 modem speedtouch 330 gris

Installation du modem speedtouch 330
Pour l'intallation du modem speedtouch 330 gris, le package speedtouch-1.3-8.1.101mdk.rpm pose des problèmes.
Il faut télécharger à l'adresse http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=68502
speedtouchconf-10-Nov-2004.tar.gz et le décompresser dans un répertoire , par exemple /usr/local/share

on obtient /usr/local/share/speedtouchconf

Il faut mettre le microcode , il s'agit du fichier alcaudsl.sys, qu'il faut renommer mgmt.o et le placer dans le même répertoire :
/usr/local/share/speedtouchconf

Télécharger le Firmware:
http://speedtouchconf.sourceforge.net/
Sur la page télécharger rev4fw.zip, il se trouve en milieu de page

For the silver modem, you will need the -->rev4fw<-- microcode - just put this file into the same directory as the main speedtouchconf.sh script.

Il faut le placer dans le réperoire (/usr/local/share/speedtouchconf) sans le décompresser !

Pour que l'installation se passe bien, il faut installer le package :
bc-1.06-13mdk.i586.rpm, il se trouve sur le DVD ou le CD d'installation de la mandrake 10.1 official

Ensuite vous exécutez le script de configuration du modem :
speedtouchconf.sh ou ./speedtouchconf.sh qui se trouve dans le répertoire
/usr/local/share/speedtouchconf
vous n'avez plus ensuite qu'à répondre ...aux questions

40 pages ca fait vraiement beaucoup. Peut-etre tu verifies d'abord si la proposition de toolinux s'applique a toi (tu as un speedtouch ?) et si oui tu essaies d'installer le drivers modifies comme il le propose. Si apres ca ne marche pas on peut toujours revenir sur les infos que je t'ai demande.

Pour le "ifconfig" if suffit de ne prendre que les deux premieres lignes de chaque device (comme ppp0, ppp1, eth0, eth1, lo etc.) En plus le "lo" n'est pas necessaire. Pour les messages de noyau il suffit peut-etre de mettre les 10-20 dernieres lignes de "dmesg". Mais essaies d'abord la proposition de toolinux.

D'abord je suis impressionne de la complexite de ton firewall. Moi je fais un truc avec partage reseau et c'est nettement plus simple. Mais c'est le firewall de Mandrake.

Maintenant pour ton probleme. J'espere que les organisateur de ce forum ne soient pas trops fache pour l'utilisation de la place. Mais je crois je
comprends maintenant le probleme et ce n'est pas si grave. En fait bien que le poste de toolinux concerne un autre modem il a mis le point sur un probleme similaire.
Il est evident que dans le noyau 2.6.9 il manque un module cruciale qui s'appelle "eagle-usb" et qui est le driver pour ton modem sagem. J'ai l'impression que ce module ne fait pas partie du noyau standard. Tu peux encore chercher dans le "make xconfig" mais je ne crois pas que tu le trouve la dedans. Ce n'est pas grave et ce n'est qu'un driver exterieur qu'il suffit d'ajouter maintenant. Pour cela tu telecharge le driver a:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/eagle-usb
sous forme de source. Tu deballes et tu lis soigneusement les instructions comment le compiler et installer. En principe c'est a la fin du README:

make clean
make
make install
eagleconfig
startadsl

Ce truc va compiler le module eagle-usb tout seul et installer au bon endroit, c.-a-d. dans /lib/modules/2.6.9/.... !

Mais ATTENTION:

(1) Tu dois avoir garde tes source de noyau exactement au meme endroit au elles etaient quand tu as compile le noyau. J'espere que tu ne les as pas effaces. Il faut que le lien:
/lib/modules/2.6.9/build
montre vers le repertoire de source (faire "ls -ld /lib/modules/2.6.9/build" pour controler). Normalement si tu n'as plus touches a tes sources c'est automatique et bon!
C'est necessaire pour que la compilation du module "eagle-usb" prennent les fichiers include du nouveau noyau! Avec le lien ci-dessus le script configure s'occupe de ca tout seul. Tu n'as qu'a veiller que le lien soit bon!

(2) Il faut que tu fasse la compiliation quand le noyau 2.6.9 tourne sinon tu va installer les modules de l'autre noyau et eventuellement ecraser l'ancien module "eagle-usb". Donc apres telechargement redemarrer en 2.6.9 et compiler et installer apres!!!!

Si (1) et (2) sont bon tu n'as qu'a installer le machin "eagle-ubs" selon les instructions.

Pour ton information: Dans la distribution de Mandrake ce module est deja fournie sous forme binaire pour le noyau Mandrake. Mais pour chaque nouveau noyau il faut le recompiler et reinstaller. En principe tu as certainement aussi les sources de "eagle-usb" sur tes CDs Mandrake. Je te conseille quand-meme de plutot telecharger la toute derniere version a sourceforge comme je le propose ci-dessus. C'est plus facile et mieux que de chercher le rpm-source sur les CDs.

Pour terminer une petite proposition alternative, peut-etre insolente:

Selon ton numero IP je deduis que tu es client chez Free avec un modem Sagem. Je crois tu peux demander pour 30 Euros (avec une anciennete de > 12 mois) l'echange avec la Freebox. Pour la Freebox il suffit de la brancher a ta carte reseau (le truc avec "eth0" de ton ifconfig) et mettre le truc DHCP dans drakconf pour la carte reseau. Ca marche avec certitude son driver exterieur. On peut meme utiliser l'USB de la Freebox pour lequel il y a le driver dans le noyau (je crois: usb-net). Mais la carte reseau est mieux. Bien-sur si tu fais ca c'est un peu la triche apres tout les efforts.
Ce serait quand meme dommage de ne pas essayer d'installer toi meme le driver "eagle-usb". Je ne vois plus d'obstacle majeur.

UN GRAND GRAND MERCI À TOI KMF

J'ai suivi toutes tes instruction à lettre et CA FONCTIONNE parfaitement. J'ai maintenant 2 noyaux à ma disposition qui marchent parfaitement.

J'avoue que ton aide est vraiment très précieuse. Grace à toi, j'ai appris à compiler un noyau et à resoudre tous les problèmes que j'ai pu rencontrer lors de l'installation de ce noyau.
Tes explications sont toujours très clair , argumentés et très formatrices.
Ca fait maintenant 2 mois que j'ai découvert linux, et ce sont des gens comme toi qui m'ont fait apprecier ce système. D'ailleurs je n'utilise pratiquement plus windows XP sauf pour certaines applications comme AUTOCAD (je suis concepteur paysagiste) . Par contre GIMP remplace remarquablement photoshop .
Pour la video, linux répond également à mes besoin, je peux cloner, ripper, faire des divx sans difficultés sur linux.
Linux est vraiment un système formidable qui mérite qu'on s'y attarde au risque d'en oublier MICROSOFT WINDOWS :):):)

Je sais que je n'en suis qu'au début et j'ai hâte d'aller plus loin dans la maitrise de ce système TRES STABLE. J'ai pu le tester en ouvrant plus de 20 applications ( video, gimp , bureautique , internet etc....)en même temps-le système ne bronche pas. De plus, pas besoin de rebooter après l'installation d'un logiciel.

Vraiment encore merci pour ta disponibité.

Avec un peu plus d'expérience, je ne manquerai pas d'ajouter ma pierre à l'édifice.

De rien, je suis tres content que ca ait finalement marche! En fait c'etait un peu de mal chance avec le driver eagle-usb, car il n'a pas encore trouve sa place dans le noyau officiel. Je suppose ca va arriver dans une des prochaines versions. C'est toujours pareil au debut il faut chercher le driver pour un nouveau truc a droit ou a gauche et l'ajouter comme ca et plus tard il sera integre dans le noyau officiel en sorte qu'il soit automatiquement compile avec le reste du noyau.

En fait je ne connaissais pas ce driver avant. J'ai seulement vu ca dans
la 4eme et 5eme ligne de ton dmesg de 2.6.8, bien cache:

[eagle-usb] Modem operational !!
[eagle-usb] Ethernet device eth2 created.

Et apres on peut aussi verifier qu'il ne figure pas dans la liste de "lsmod" du 2.6.9 mais il etait dans la liste du 2.6.8. Apres un google avec "eagle-usb" on tombe tout de suite sur la page de sourceforge.

Pour la prochaine fois, c.-a-d. pour le noyau 2.6.10 qui est sense de sortir avant noel,

tu peux simplement garder ton repertoire source du driver et apres l'installation du noyau refaire le configure, make etc. Une fois on a compris c'est facile.
